NAME: Patrick van Dyk
DATE OF BIRTH: 27th of July 1988 OCCUPATION: Student.

TYPE OF UMPIRE: (e:g goal, boundary, central) Central Umpire. Have ran the boundary once in my time at the BUA.
HOW DID YOU BECOME AN UMPIRE: I was asked to by a fellow BUA member to come down and help boost the numbers.
UMPIRING ACHIEVEMENTS: 2009 Best Clubman award, 2009 BFL reserves Grand final, 2009 un16 BJFL Grand Final, 2009 Girls League Grand Final, meeting Mitch Cole and the 2008 un15 BJFL Grand Final. Also umpiring my first seniors game and also my first BFL seniors game.
2010 UMPIRING GOALS: Umpiring as many BFL senior games as possible and trying to get a BFL senior fnal game during the 2010 final series.
I ENJOY BEING PART OF THE BENDIGO UMPIRES UMPIRES ASSOCIATION
BECAUSE…….it has a great social life, relaxed atmosphere and environment and is welcoming of all people of all different ages and backgrounds. It also means I’m the only Horsham person there. It also counts Mitch Cole among its members which is always a highlight.
MY PLAYING HISTORY DETAILS: I played my final game of football in 2009 for the Horsham Saints in the Wimmera Football League. I played for them for around 10 seasons and was lucky enough to play a few senior games for them.
FUNNIEST MOMENT UMPIRING: Watching Mitch Cole umpire is always a personal favourite. I was lucky enough to umpire my three Grand Finals in 2009 with him. Watching Mitch Pitt learn how to bounce the ball and almost rebrake his nose in the process.
SUPPORTER ABUSE TOWARDS UMPIRES IS…………………overrated. It can also be quite amusing at times listening to the comments that come our way.
