Elmore have struck gold in their recruiting campaign with confirmation that Golden Square Premiership Coach Mark Adamson will join the Bloods for the 2010 Season.

Adamson who has coached the BFL Bulldogs to the past two Grand Finals and also had a stint Coaching Goulburn Valley League Club Kyabram committed last week.

Elmore Coach Andy Grant who led the Club to a Semi Final finish this season is elated with the addition of such a quality performer ‘’ It’s a massive scoop for our Club probably one of the biggest for some time for our club, and after having led Square to last couple of Grand Finals to have someone with his leadership skills and also as a quality forward he will be great’’.

Asked how they landed the high flying forward Grant said’’ He has a couple of mates at Elmore so we just kept in touch with him and obviously he is really busy with his work and it was easier for him to step away from Golden Square and not play there so Nick could step in so we became a good fit for him’’.

The Bloods expect that Adamson will play 90% of the Season with the likelihood that he will be rested for some matches to keep his body fresh.

Trump card! Mark Adamson (Holding the Cup) promises to be on the most damaging forwards in the HDFL next season.

It’s been a productive period for Elmore who have also gained the services of South Bendigo pair Julian Lake and Jared Keely who were both members of the Bloods senior runner-up combination this season.

Former Elmore junior Jay Spizzica who has been in out of GVFL Club Rochester’s senior outfit in recent years is another definite addition to the Bloods lists and he is expected to add another dimension the Bloods midfield. The Bloods are also waiting on answers from a series of other prospective recruits and all indications are that the list is in fine shape with only tall defender Ryan Weise not returning at this stage.

2009 HDFL forward pocket of the year Joe Cavallo is one player uncertain of his future with the speedy goal sneak currently seeking employment in the teaching field after completing his studies at La Trobe University this year. Cavallo has ties to the Mildura area although the Bloods are confident that if he is still based in Central Victoria he will continue his football with the Club.

The Bloods started the Pre-Season grind last night in Bendigo with 26 players on hand to go through their paces. The player’s session included a 2.5km run, an 18 minutes circuit and some short ball work.  The playing group will train Monday, Wednesday, Friday in the coming weeks before their last session will be held at Elmore prior to the Christmas break.
