Mitiamo have received a boost with the return of talented forward Alex Chapman to Windy Flats after four seasons away from the club. While much of the talk surrounding the Super Roos was that they could be set to slide since bowing out of the 2008 finals race in straight sets the addition of Chapman in attack to compliment the competitions Premier forward in Ryan Haythorpe promises to provide valuable scoring power.

The athletic Joel Whybird from Mallee league club Beulah is another likely recruit. It will be Bill Grant’s 4thseason as Senior Coach with their best season under his reign coming in 2007 when the Super Roos achieved a Preliminary Final finish. Mitiamo won their last LVFL Premiership in the season of 1999 which is remembered as one of the classic Grand Finals in the history of the competition with Mitiamo coming from 33 points down at the last change to defeat YCW.
